Why is watermelon a perfect smoothie ingredient?
Water makes for more than 90 percent of watermelon, which makes this fruit an ideal liquid base for a smoothie, as well as an additional way to hydrate your body. This also means that watermelon helps you feel full, but without a ton of calories. That's why this watermelon lime strawberry smoothie is ideal for starting the day or post work-out energy supply.
Besides water, watermelon contains an abundance of healthy nutrients, such as vitamins A and C, potassium, and magnesium.
It is also believed that some watermelon components can improve heart health, lower inflammation, and boost skin and hair appearance.
Because it enhances the absorption of citrulline (an amino acid), watermelon helps relieve muscle soreness. This makes it the most appropriate ingredient for a post-workout smoothie.
Watermelon lime strawberry smoothie, energy boost & ideal breakfast or post-workout drink
Lime is not your typical smoothie fruit, but if you like its tanginess, you will love this drink. And what’s not to love about lime, considering it also contains large amounts of all kinds of goodies: calcium, vitamin C, potassium, and phosphorus.
This smoothie also contains strawberries which give it a savory taste and add even more health perks, such as improving heart health, and regulating blood sugar levels.
The wonderful citrus balances the sweetness of strawberries and watermelon, while this smoothie boosts your immunity and smooths your skin.

Ingredients
2 cups seedless watermelon slices
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon lime juice (Make sure you choose a fresh and ripe lime that can be squeezed nicely)
2 teaspoons honey
6-7 ice cubes
Instructions
1. Cut the watermelon into one-inch slices.
2. Squeeze a lime.
3. Put all the ingredients, including ice cubes, in a blender and blend until nice and smooth.
4. Serve in a glass or a jar with a slice of lime on the side as a decorative element.
Recipe notes
If you’re cutting an entire watermelon, it would be wise to use a quality stainless steel knife and a large well crafted walnut chopping board, which will help you make smooth and precise cuts.
Again, you don’t have to use honey, but it will pair nicely with the tanginess of lime.
Lastly, it is essential to have a quality blender because some have knives that can’t handle blending the ice cubes.
